the journey is the destination!
TINA JACKSON is an Entrepreneurial Independent Musician, Blues & Roots Singer Songwriter, Wabash Hammer Acoustic Rhythm Guitar Stylist, Mezzo Soprano vocalist with lyric soprano embellishments, whose polished mellow tones, stirringly soulful plaintive strains, energizing and authentic stage presence, and relatable story shaping lyrics bring spontaneity and vibrancy to the traditional art of acoustic guitar backed vocal blues and
roots music.
Tina Jackson is a product of her Roots--Americana beginnings, which eventually led to deep emergence into Acoustic Blues. Expose with great fascination from age 8-15, to the diddly-bo
and washtub bass rhythm sections scattered about Chicago's famed Maxwell Street Market every Sunday. Elbowing through the crowd for an up close up peek at Little Walter, and Willie
Dixon with young Buddy Guy in tow rightfully put the icing on
what became Tina's signature front porch, barbeque and
butter-biscuit, moonshine and tall tales vibe. The official music video titled "In My Shoes" now on YouTube channel @videosoftina and the scheduled follow-up single (out April 1, 2025) encompasses that very VIBE.
The overall nature of Tina's work embodies the most compelling characteristics of the Negro Spiritual, Gospel, Sharecropper Folk Song, Country, Bluegrass, 60’s Folk, Acoustic (Delta) Blues, and playful hints of Rock, Jazz, and R&B. Elements of these historic American music styles took on great meaning in Tina Jackson's childhood. Tina sees learning and growing musically as essential
to life as a musician and studies much, but asserts that her love of the great genres from her early life will always foster her creative spirit.
In October 2024 Tina Jackson was Awarded "Best Blues
Songwriter” for her composition "In My Shoes" and was featured and honored at and by the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival.
“With much humility I am grateful to be chosen to participate in
the 2025 North Central Florida Women in Blues Showcase.
This is an opportunity to give back in support of the phenomenal
Women of today, yesterday and tomorrow, who carry on the
legendary and quintessential Music and Culture that is "the Blues."
